The Experts Don't Get Crypto

I’m going to come out and say it right now.
If you read this newsletter, and if own even a small amount of crypto, then you understand the technology better than Gary Gensler. That’s correct—you’re more savvy to it than the man who runs the SEC.
He recently proved this.
Last week, Gensler made a number of statements that contradicted earlier positions on digital assets. The comments roiled the markets, and sent shudders through many corners of the internet, but they also proved that Gensler doesn’t grasp the sector. He doesn’t understand that the tech is here, and it can’t be stopped. That train left the station over a decade ago.
He’s one of the many experts in banking and financials that doesn’t understand this. Every week it seems like “experts” fall down on the job with regard to these assets. They mix up terms. Try to talk out of both sides of their mouths. Don’t understand the nuances.
In short, they just don’t get it.
